Today smart city is one of most discussed thing in India. Here I got some information about characteristics of Smart City. These are given below 

• Low power theft will result in high collection for power distribution companies and adequate power supply throughout.
• Better traffic flow , low pollution levels and free parking for citizens even during high traffic flow.
• Unified city view will result in better planning maintaining the city and low casts of execution.
• 24/7 water supply and efficient metering will result in higher collection for service providers.
• Low instances of medical errors and high efficiency in hospital operations.
• Efficient information sharing between citizens and government agencies.
• Competition between cities to attract investment through ease of rules and clarity on regulations.
  While gathering data about I also got some information about dumb city. So I also  would like to share with you that what makes a city dumb. These are given below.

• High power theft results in power shortage and frequent blackouts.
• Congestion, slow moving traffic , lack of parking lots and high pollution levels.
• No unified city view results in periodic digging up of roads to upgrade existing facilities , but to no avail.
• Water shortage and non-metered supply results in revenue losses to service providers.
• High cost of healthcare due to limited record health history of citizens.
